Our supportive skill courses are designed to give you that added edge as an actor or action performer. We have brought together a pool of highly experienced, award-winning teaching staff, including a number of GB champions, to offer an exciting range of classes throughout the year. As with all our courses, class sizes will be strictly limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
Courses include: falling, weapon tricking and spinning, Wushu for film, wrestling for actors plus a range of masterclasses and an Introduction to Stage Combat.

From Jedi and ninja to computer game characters wielding swords, tricks are an essential part of a performers’ skill set. In this course you will learn a range of sword tricks and spinning techniques to make you stand out from the crowd, enhance your showreels and generally look like a badass.
Jet Li, Donne Yen, Ray ‘Darth Maul’ Park, and some the world’s leading stuntmen are all practitioners of Wushu.
Learning the fundamentals of this discipline teaches you poise, posture, dramatic Kung Fu style and techniques you won’t find in any other martial arts or movement system.
Students will be taught basic techniques and combinations from Wushu. These will include kicking, sweeping and jumping techniques, and how to use them in basic fight choreography.
This course is taught by Steve Coleman, UK National Champion for the past seventeen consecutive years, World Chin Woo champion twice amongst many other awards.

This course is aimed at people who want to add some close quarters action to their fights. We will go over grappling, safe contact strikes, throws and falls taken from pro wrestling and adapted to suit the stage and screen.
This class is taught by pro wrestler and action performer Justin Sysum. Justin has 7 years and over 500 matches of professional Wrestling experience and is the current heavyweight champion of ITV’s WOS Wrestling, has stunt doubled for ‘The Miz’ in WWE Studios film Marine 6, and played Hawkeye in Marvel Universe Live!

Become a more versatile actor or action performer with techniques designed to keep you safe for those occasions when you need to get to the floor dramatically, often without mats. This course is ideal for anyone working in film, theatre, live shows and motion capture.
Instructor Tom Davey is action performer with Independent Drama, with a background in various martial arts, mostly notably Aikido which he has been studying for 22 years and currently holds the rank of 2nd Dan.
Tom’s skills have enabled him to get work on numerous productions where he has been blown up, thrown through the air, knocked over and generally hit the floor a lot whilst dying on everything from theatre stages to concrete.
Over the years Tom has designed his own system and series for teaching falls, in what he describes as a From The Ground Up approach that is designed for everyone from complete beginners to those with existing skills, and is in the process of working on an accompanying video series to go along with this course.
Stick fighting is one of its most famous disciplines and a great skill for an actor to have a basic grasp of as is used widely in films.
Open to complete beginners, these sessions will be an introduction into the Filipino weapon arts of Kali, Escrima and Arnis.
Originating from the Philippines these martial arts put the weapon first, with new students learning the use of the rattan stick (olisi) before anything else. These arts have found their way into film, most notably the Bourne trilogy, Kick-Ass, Taken and The Book of Eli.
Students to this course will be covering a selection of armed and unarmed drills, giving them skills that can be taken into the performance room to add to any theatrical fight.
Each session is a stand alone class. Different sessions will focus on different weapon systems including double stick, single stick / machete, knife and mixed weapons.

Led by Georgia Munroe from team Esprit Concrete, a performance athlete of 8 years, level 2 @parkouruk qualified coach, and stunts trainee.
She will be using her experience and the Esprit Concrete Method to target physical and psychosocial resilience training that she believes is essential to your careers both in the stunts works and all movement associated settings.
Some of the physical skills you will be working on include balance work, strength and conditioning, accuracy, and bail training (managing falls and slips for example). Along with soft skills such as fear management, teamwork and communication, and problem-solving.
